So...it is more like a 7 1/2 month post, but at least I'm getting this up before Blake turns 8 months old!
We were super busy over Christmas traveling to Oregon and spending a week with my side of the family. We had so much fun; however, sickness set upon us once we got home. Poor Blake got croup after we got home and now Jared isn't feeling super hot. Blakey seems to be on the mend, but nights are still a little rough (on mommy more than Blake...I think he is loving all the extra cuddle and one on one mommy time in the middle of the night :) I will say, even as a sick baby baby Blake is extremely sweet. He has whimpered some and had a few crying sessions, but overall with extra cuddles and loves he settles down and is happy to just be close and held despite feeling horrible.
* You are consistently sleeping about 12 hours a night. We have gotten a couple all nighters from you (about 6 or 7), but typically you still wake up about 5 or 6 in the morning to eat before going back to sleep. You still go to bed around 7:30 and then are up for the day by 8ish.
* You are really easy to get to sleep, you like to nurse or take a bottle before falling asleep
* You are still napping 2 times a day, but nap times are pretty variable still. Lately you have been doing a super long stretch between when you wake up in the afternoon and when you go to bed, you are usually slightly grumpy by bedtime because you are so tired.
* Solids continue to be hit or miss. Mum-mum rice cakes are by far your favorite and you can down those super fast. You seem to like more texture rather than really pureed food. And if I finger feed you rather than using a spoon you eat better.
* I offer you some solids at every meal and you seem to like mashed banana, peas, potatoes and avocados. Again...it is all hit and miss though. The more independent you can be the more you seem to like to eat.
* You easily sit up unattended and can reach out and grab things from a sitting position
* You are also a pro at rolling both front to back and back to front...however, you still are content with however we put you and aren't seemingly interested in being mobile yet (I'm really okay with this though, as I only have you immobile for a little while longer before you will be on the go for the rest of your life!)
* You are so curious about everything and reach for anything in sight...including anything I am holding or your brother is playing with
* You are very smiley, but make people work for it a little
* You are also very ticklish and are beginning to anticipate tickles when we are playing
* You are fascinated by your tongue and are babbling a ton. Still mostly vowels but your favorite consonants are /h, y, m, and b/. You are super cute when you wake up because you just talk and talk and talk to yourself until we come in to get you.
(I slept in the guest room with you last night and I got to wake up to the happiest, sweetest, cutest little baby, that was babbling up a storm and reaching out to touch my face...pure love from this momma!)
* You know what you like and if someone takes something you want to play with you definitely voice your displeasure!
* You and Landon are beginning to "play" more. Sharing is a tricky part for you brother at times, but it is so cute to watch you play together!
* You have your two bottom teeth that came in a couple weeks apart
(First one 12/15, second one 12/29)
* You are wearing size 3 diapers and 6 month (some 6-9 months) clothing
* The other day when I took you to the doctor for your croup you weighed 17 lbs.
You are SUCH a sweet and content little guy. I can't exaggerate it enough! Jared always says you don't have to be the life of the party, you are just happy to be at the party!
Just like your brother did, you have completely stolen our hearts!

He is sooo SWEET. Totally agree with Jared about Blake just wanting to be a part of things. Miss him. There are a couple of hearts he has stolen here in Oregon.
