Summer Happenings!

So far this summer we have managed to stay busy and have a lot of FUN!
Here are some of the things we have been up to these days!
Puddle Splashing
Crafts and Projects around the house
Nature Walks
Lots and lots and lots of pool time
Swim Lessons
Picnics and Parks
Outside Fun
Father's Day
Local Carnival
Pojo's
Silly Days
All this FUN leaves us exhausted :)
Our summer days are full and I know there will come a time when I long for them and the simplicity that we have and the love that I experience through life's "little" activities! I'm quite thankful for my many blessings!

5 Months Old!

I seem to be a couple weeks behind posting Oakley's monthly posts! Summer is in full swing right now and we are loving spending time outside, at the pool and having picnics and park time! It's nice not to have a schedule right now but we manage to stay busy most days of the week!

Here's what our little Miss Rose is up to these days!

* You are still consistently a great sleeper.  You go to bed about 8:30-9:30 at night and will sleep until about 9:00 then next morning.  I really don't know when you wake up exactly, because you just start sucking your fingers and are content until I come in and get you!

* You take a little cat nap in the morning, a really long nap (about 3 hours or so) in the afternoon and then a little cat nap in the evening before bed. If you don't get your cat naps, then you are a little thrown off when it comes to your long nap and bedtime.

* You are usually awake about 2-3 hours at a time before ready to sleep again, and your afternoon nap usually happens about 1:00 or so.

* You are pretty flexible when it comes to sleeping and it's nice in the morning because we can still go and do things and you will sleep in the car, the stroller or in my front pack. I typically try to be home in the afternoon so you can sleep in your crib for your long nap.

* I love that you are such a cuddler still, you will sleep on me and let me cuddle and hold you!

* You remain addicted to your fingers! It's pretty cute because you suck on them when you get excited or are happy too!

* You are still nursing great and eat about every 2-3 hours

* I just did your first solids with you a couple days ago with sweet potatoes.  You didn't cry but weren't quite sure of the flavor.  You had 4-5 bites and seemed happy enough to take another one, but definitely not overly interested.

* You intently watch us eat though and are at a stage where you reach for EVERYTHING and put EVERYTHING in your mouth!

* You more consistently roll from belly to back, but have made it from back to belly a handful of times.  You are able to prop yourself up quite high on your elbows when you are on your tummy. You also roll to your side all the time.

* You are reaching for all sorts of toys and objects and have a pretty strong grasp when you get something

* You are content for the most part to lay on the floor or sit in your chair as long as you can watch and see us.  You are not a fan of being left alone somewhere!

* You can stand up straight with help and are getting stronger and stronger.

* You are fairly quiet.  You love watching us and can track our voices across the room but you don't talk a ton.  You will babble and play with us, but overall you aren't a screamer like your brothers were at this age!

* You have a super cute giggle, but it is TOUGH to get you to laugh.  You smile all the time and love the interactions, but to really get any sort of laugh out of you takes some work!

* You have found your feet and love holding them and sucking on your toes!

* You still love your brothers and they love you! Although, lately they both think they can lift you and roll you over and are getting a little more rough with you as you get bigger.  You don't seem to mind though and it's fun to watch you 3 interact!

* You continue to like your baths and are a silly girl as you roll to your side all the time and get water in your face!

* You really are such a sweetie and are so easy going with our schedule and being gone most mornings!

* You are becoming attached to me and will cry if I leave the room or if I hand you to someone else and walk away.

* You are so happy in the morning and after your nap and just smile and smile at us

* You don't get worked up super often and it really only happens when you are tired or hungry.

* You are transitioning into size 6 month clothes, but are mostly in 3 month or 3-6 month clothes

* You are wearing size 2 diapers

* Your hair is still brown and your eyes are still blue

It's hard to believe that in a couple of weeks you will be a whole 6 months old!
I told Jared the other day I love you so much it hurts sometimes! I can't seem to get enough kisses, hugs, snuggles and loves! You have added a depth and love to our family and we thank God for you on a daily basis, what a little sweetie and blessing you are!
