3 Months Old

Miss Rose turned 3 months old on April 15th! Time continues to fly by and we fall more in love with our little girl everyday.  Sometimes as I look at pictures and see our family of 5, I am in awe and amazement by the family the Lord has blessed me with.
It doesn't seem like it was that long ago when Jared and I were dating, dreaming and imagining what our life could be like together.  Here we are 11 years later with 3 beautiful children! I feel like we are in the sweetest time of life, getting to watch our kids grow.  They still LOVE being with us and doing things with us. They are still innocent and our family is truly their core.  I so pray and strive to live in the moment and treasure these days.  As hard as they can be at times and as much as we are stretched daily as parents and individuals, I love our life!
All that to say...here is what our sweet lovey girl is up to these days!
*I almost hate to post your sleeping pattern because it is AMAZING and I don't want to jinx it! You sleep between 10-11 hours at night
*You typically go down about 9:30-10:30 and sleep until about 9 or 10 the next morning! Sometimes you wake up early in the morning to eat, but this is rare and you will go back to sleep afterwards
* I still swaddle you tight at night and you moved up into your crib right before 3 months
* You are usually awake for 1 1/2 - 2 hours before you are ready for a nap

* In the morning and evening your catnap but in the afternoon you will take a long nap anywhere from 2-4 hours; falling asleep about noon/1:00

* You like to sleep on your side for naps, lightly swaddled with blankets
* You continue to love the wrap and being cuddled up tight on my chest
* I love holding you to sleep and you are quite the cuddle bug still

*You eat about every 2-3 hours during the day and are still nursing great
* I went back to work 1 day a week and you have done great with your bottle...although you don't seem to like the frozen milk as much as fresh
* You continue to get stronger and stronger, being able to sit up with support and hold your head up while looking around (it still gets a little wobbly at times)
* Your legs are getting stronger and you can "stand" up when we hold you
* You are quite the mover, kicking your legs and waving your arms (especially in the bath)
* You are fairly stoic when not being interacted with; but when given 1:1 attention you really light up!
* You are very alert when awake, looking around and love to be talked to and interacted with
* You can tell when you are by yourself and don't really like to be left alone for long periods of time when awake
* You are all smiles and coos when we talk to you; you have been able to giggle about 3 different times, but can't quite figure out how to laugh as you mostly suck air in and coo really loud
* I haven't done a ton of tummy time with you but you seem to have good neck and back strength when laying on our chests
* Recently you have started going from completely content to full on crying in about 3 seconds...it's kind of crazy!  But everyone always tells us what a sweet and content baby you are
* You can definitely get worked up; usually it happens when you are tired, hungry or in your carseat when you are awake
* You are able to grasp items when we put them in your hands; but aren't able to grab toys on your own yet...although you are much more interested in toys with sounds and lights now
* We haven't done a pacifier still (which is partly why I think you are such a great sleeper at night); but you LOVE to suck on your index finger when you can get it in your mouth
* Your brothers continue to adore you, but I don't trust them at all to leave you alone with them...unfortunately Blake is a little rough with you and makes you cry fairly often by yelling in your face or by being too physical with you
* They both are ALWAYS asking to hold you!
* You are wearing mostly 3 month clothes and size 1/2 diapers
* Based on our home scale you weighed right around 11 lbs

* Your eyes are still blue and your hair is brown

Oh Miss Oakley you certainly have our hearts, as well as your brothers. We are so thankful to be living close and getting to be a part of your life.
