9 Months Old

This post is coming very late...as Blake was 9 months old on February 19th.  But at least I am getting it up before he's 10 months old!
February was a month of sickness :(  First Blake got a cold and respiratory issue and then Landon got the nasty cold and respiratory thing.  We had weeks and weeks of snotty noses and coughs...yuck!  But we are healthy now and back to normal!
Unfortunately we were also sick over Valentine's day, so there were no cute treats, breakfast heart pancakes or fun dinners...I guess there's always next year!

On to what our little man is up to these days:

*  Sleeping is great (unless you are sick).  You are sleeping about 12-13 hours per night, going to bed about 7:30/8:00, waking up about 5:00/6:00 and going back to sleep until about 8:00/8:30.  You are a great sleeper and are able to fall asleep on your own, as long as you can find your pacifier!

*  You are consistently taking 2 naps a day still.  Usually one around 10:30 in the morning and the other one around 2:00 in the afternoon.  Naps vary in length from 1 hour to 2 1/2 hours.

*  You eat 3 meals a day with us and nurse around 5 times a day.

*  You like finger foods the best and have great dexterity when feeding yourself.  You will still eat purees and seem to like veggies better than fruit right now.  You seem to be a great eater so far!

*  You are starting to drink out of a sippy cup, but not sure what to think when the water comes out!

*  You can independently go from laying down to sitting up and sitting up to laying down (although that just happened over the last week).

*  You are really starting to rock a ton and do full on push-ups!

*  You can't figure out how to move forward!  You are on the go but can only figure out how to go backwards!  It is pretty funny because numerous times a day you get stuck halfway under beds, couches, chairs, etc.  Any day I know you will figure out how to crawl forward (for now you just nose dive or get high centered when you attempt :)

*  You will deliberately reach for me when you want to me, usually when you want to nurse or when you are tired!

* You are soooo ticklish...like really, really ticklish and you have the best giggle and squeal!

*  We are working on some sign language of "all done", "more" and "eat"

*  You are learning all sorts of new sounds, laughs and giggles...it is fun to hear you explore all the different noises your mouth, tongue, lips and throat can make!

*  You are starting to imitate the things we do like blowing raspberries, clicking your tongue, squealing and doing an Indian call

*  Your brother is getting rougher and rougher with you the more mobile you get.  For the most part you don't mind it and it is pretty cute to watch you guys laugh and play together!

*  You love my phone and seem to find it whenever I lay it down.  You also love what you love and get ticked if it gets taken away from you!

*  You still only have 2 bottom teeth but you are a greater chewer when munching on all the food you eat.

*  Your smile and giggle can light up a room and you just brighten my day when I walk in and you see me!  You give me the best smile, and makes me feel VERY loved!

*  You move your hands all the times while sitting up (makes you look like a hula dancer!)

*  You giggle a ton, but your laughs are quick and oh-so-cute!

*  You are wearing size 6-9 month clothing and size 3 diaper

* You weigh 18lbs 2oz (25th percentile), are 27 7/8 inches (30th percentile) and head circumference is 46 cm (80th percentile)

I know by the next time I post your monthly update you will be completely mobile and on the go...not sure we are ready for that yet!
