New Carpet and Ramdom Thoughts

I have come to realize that new carpet is amazing and can only wonder "why didn't we do this sooner"!!! Yesterday we had carpet installed and I am loving it. Our house smells new, everything is clean and almost every room has been decluttered! Although it has been a lot of work, it feels really refreshing to have a house that is organized and tidy! I admit that I can be slightly OCD about cleaning and clutter, but I think it is important in life to simplify. We are still uncertain about whether or not we will buy a new house, but it has been nice to go through and get rid of things that we no longer use or need.
Life has been hitting us lately and I have to remind myself daily of the love and blessing the Lord has bestowed upon us. Jared survived a second round of layoffs yesterday and both of us were overwhelmed once again by the Lord's provision when we are so undeserving. Our cute black puppy is going through a lot of health issues that are all pointing to cancer (that is another post for another day), and I have to daily rely on the Lord for comfort and guidance. Overall, life has been overwhelming, but I couldn't imagine going through it without the Lord by my side. I know that He is my source of comfort, provision and strength, without Him I would be a mess and a wreck. I am so thankful to be one of His children!

I meant for this to be a post about carpet....so here are some before and after pictures! I was slightly embarrassed of the condition of our old carpet...I really did try hard to keep it clean (I don't think these pictures show just how dirty it was)!! Lucy is a little confused about what is going on, since our house was basically empty, so she is pouting a little in the "before" pictures.

A lot of work but well worth it! Hopefully the pictures do justice to show the HUGE difference!

Puppy Sitting

I'm such a bad blogger... I started working 4, 10 hour days last week so that is a partial excuse for not posting as much as I thought I would. I LOVE my new schedule though. I get Friday's off now and so I always get a three day weekend!! Woo Hoo to long weekends!

A couple that we are friends with are in Mexico and we have been puppy sitting their cockapoo (don't even know if I spelled that right). His name is Hudson and he is a mix between a cocker spaniel and a poodle.

As you can see he is pretty darn cute.

I still don't know what Lucy thinks of him, as he constantly wants to play and won't leave her alone. I think they have a fun time playing together though. This isn't the greatest video because everytime I try to get out the camera they both stop playing and come up to see what I am doing. Apparently they both want to be the center of attention!!

Other big news consists of us comtemplating the idea of selling our house and buying something different. We are in the prayer phase and waiting to see if this is what the Lord has in store for us. We recently bought new carpet which will be installed in the next week or so. Unfortunately Lucy has a bad habit of running in circles around the house when she gets excited, so we have a couple of holes that wouldn't be too appealing to possible buyers!! No more hot circles for her once the new carpet goes in!

New Year's Resolution

I have been meaning to start a blog for quite some time. I love looking at other people's blogs and finding out what long distance friends have been up to. I guess I have never thought of my life or thoughts as blog worthy!! Typically New Year's Resolutions are made and broken shortly after, I figured I would make one and actually stick to it...so here is my first post on my very own blog! Hopefully those I love will find me blog worthy!
